YOUR STORY MATTERS

Welcome to Relational Wellness Counseling with me, Lisa Eschbach, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). If you are struggling in a relationship with others or yourself, you have come to the right place. Often people find a therapist when they can no longer cope or tolerate on their own. Hope may be fading, shame may have taken residence, and intrusive or disorganized thoughts and behaviors may be distracting the mind and body. This is when I tell people to borrow my hope because healing is possible. Reach out now to get the process of healing and truly knowing yourself started.

Patterns hold our world together. In nature. In weather and seasons. In mathematics, science, astronomy and so on. And also in how we relate. Identifying and understanding our relational patterns is the first step to creating new ones. Investigating passed down ways of coping and relating, that at times can be so embedded it can be difficult to see them until we are struggling in relationships, and making poor decisions.

Once identified and processed, the earned space can give way to new thinking and relating that serve you, and breathe life into the person you truly are and long to be. Your time with me will be identifying where these patterns are in your current life, and how they came to be. Your goals in our space are what life looks like with your new, and healthier ways of relating to yourself and others. And the work will be new daily rituals that were crafted thoughtfully and intentionally to keep your new pattens in place.

If you struggle in relationship with yourself (depression and anxiety) or in relationships with others (intimacy difficulties) we will identify the origin and pattern within that struggle. Most often these patterns were unintentionally, but sometimes intentionally, put there by a caregiver or even developed by you as a coping mechanism, but a place where with some intention and work can unravel into healing and hope, acceptance and love.

About Me

My view of doing work is through an attachment lens. Attachment is a deep and enduring bond to another through the emotions we have, and a bond we can literally feel in our body. This gives us an understanding around the motivation to be in a relationship with another person, and realize that our past experiences shape 1) who we seek to be in relationship with 2) how we show up in relationship, and 3) how experiences have manifested in our body. I use attachment perspective as the language to communicate and understand what is happening in relationships.

I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist (CMAT) and a Mother Hunger Facilitator. These certifications and years of experience are the basis for my work. At a training I heard the trainer say that as a therapist “you can only take a client as far as you have gone” in referencing and urging us therapists to “do our own work”, and I could not agree more.

I am grateful for my therapy journey. Grateful that I have come into understanding around my experiences and how I show up in my relationships. I vow to honor you and your story in our time together as we discover how you show up for yourself and others.
